The Federal Thrift Savings Plan, a salary deferral plan for Federal employees, issued a notice on its website warning TSP participants that an unsanctioned Thrift Savings Plan app has appeared in the Apple App Store.

The free iPhone application is called ‘TSP Funds’ and it asks users to enter their TSP login account information. The notice indicates that the app is not being offered through the TSP and does not recommend using it, stating that ‘providing this information could result in a security risk to your account’.

It’s always a good idea to be careful before providing login account information to any smartphone applications, so let’s be careful out there, people.
